PASIGHAT, Feb 8: ‘AYANG’ celebrated its 4th anniversary on Friday last by launching an exclusive VBDC (Voluntary Blood Donors' Club) here at the College of Horticulture and Forestry,
VBDC will facilitate volunteers/donors for ‘AYANG’ whenever need arises and CHF’s Dean and Student Welfare Officer attended the programme and twelve student leaders were selected to be the coordinators of their own classes. ‘Ayi’ of ‘AYANG’ attended with her son Biling Taloh, who is also a volunteer of the NGO and a life-saver too. The NGO needs no introduction and has been playing a commendable role in the state by saving innumerable lives and on Thursday night itself, a life was saved through their donation of AB+ Group blood.
As blood is an essential element of human life with no substitute, voluntary blood donors are the cornerstone of a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood products. Ayi's work is truly inspiring and pioneering and she has always been instrumental in motivating the youths to lead a clean and healthy life free of addiction and other vices. DIPRO
