PASIGHAT, Feb 16: Founder-chairperson of Ayang, the voluntary blood donation organization, Aini Taloh became the 'Real Life Heroine' for the 27th  time this Valentine's Day on Wednesday by donating blood for the 27th time in her lifetime here at Bakin Pertin General Hospital.
Popularly known as “Ayang” for conducting regular blood donation camps for the cause of society and saving more than 1000 lives so far, Taloh has already attained an iconic status. The then CM Nabam Tuki felicitated her with certificates on behalf of APSACS and Federation of Blood Donor Organizations of India as a token of appreciation for her noble services. She also received the ‘Prominent Blood Donor’ award from the Government of West Bengal last June.
On the occasion, AYANG collected 58 units of blood, out of which 27 were donated by girls and many of the willing donors had to be refused due to underweight, low haemoglobin, low blood pressure and current medication regime.
The Pasighat based NGO received the ‘Utkal Raktavir Samman’ in recognition of its exemplary service through voluntary blood donation on February 10 last at the National Blood Donors' Conclave in  Puri, Odisha from the Puri MLA Jayanta Kumar Sarangi.
