PASIGHAT, Jun 6: The Adi Mising Baane Kebang (AMBK) organized two days awareness programme on drug abuse and granting of rights to the indigenous Misings at Lekang and Namsai areas on June 5 and 6.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General AMBK, Okom Yosung informed that Lekang region is infested with drug abuse which needs to be regulated and stopped. He advised the youths to shun drugs like opium, marijuana and other illicit substance which are ruining the life of youths.
He further opined that the AMBK is fighting and demanding for granting of Schedule Tribe Certificates to Adi-Mising communities of Lekang and Namsai areas some of whom are living there since ages..
