NAMSAI, Dec 20: Arunachal University of Studies conducted its 4th Convocation today in its campus at Namsai. A total of twenty eight gold medallists along with 487 Doctoral, PG & UG awardees attended the event.
Deputy Commissioner, Namsai, Bijoy Talukdar, attended the event as the Chief Guest. President – World Education Mission (sponsoring body of AUS) Dr. A.L. Agarwal, Chancellor Vishva Lochan, Vice-Chancellor Prof. O.P. Sharma, and Registrar Divyanshu Goel were also present on the occasion.
The Convocation ceremony commenced with the Academic Procession consisting of 35 dignitaries as per prescribed university procedure.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner lauded AUS for being a constant force in the academic development of the region. He stated that people of Namsai gets a positive impression of AUS, which is changing the perception of people about the region. He also thanked the institution for creating employment opportunities in the region.
Dr. A.L. Agarwal, President–World Education Mission emphasised on value based education and dedication of AUS for the local society. He also applauded AUS for awarding its first 4 Ph.D. Degrees and plan of commencing D.Lit. and D.Sc. (highest academic degrees) from 2020-21.
