NAMSAI, Sep 11: MLA Namsai Chow Zingnu Namchoom inaugurated the ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ at Government Higher Secondary School Namsai on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner –Namsai Bijoy Talukdar, Principal GHSS Namsai, Koing Samon Umbon, teachers and students participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Namchoom appreciated the school authority for the initiatives. He also advised the students to take advantage of the 'Atal Tinkering Lab’ and share their ideas in new innovations and experiments.
‘Every school should have such laboratory so that interested students would get platform for innovation and experiments in their initial schooling', he said. Such labs will definitely boost the students to achieve their ambitions in a different profession, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal GHSS Namsai KS Umbon informed that ‘Atal Tinkering labs’ are workspaces in schools where students of class sixth-twelfth can acquire innovative skills through hands-on learning. The tools and equipment in the laboratories enable the students to learn multiple stem (science, technology, engineering, and math) concepts. During the inaugural event, the students of GHSS Namsai displayed their innovative skills and projects.
To promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation across India, NITI Aayog launched the concept of Atal Tinkering Labs under the flagship program Atal Innovation Mission (aim).
