KHONSA, Jul 12:Continuing its crackdown, the Assam Rifles under DAO Division today apprehended Self Style Corporal Khojam Pansa of NSCN(R) who was engaged in extortion in Khonsa town.

Based on specific input, the Battalion swiftly launched an operation and apprehended the cadre alongwith live ammunition, two extortion notes in the name of NSCN (R) faction and some contraband items from the Bank colony area of the town.

Post spot investigation the cadre admitted allegiance to NSCN(R) and he further divulged that he has been a part of the outfit since 2015.
