Itanagar, Nov 26: Arunachal Tourism and Department of Textiles & Handlooms participated in ‘Destination North East’ event held at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi from November 23-26.
Minister of the Ministry of DoNER Jitendra Singh attended the event. Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Women & Child Development, Alo Libang represented Arunachal Pradesh. Union Minister appreciated the effort put in by the state’s Department of Tourism in setting up a brilliant display of the various tourist attractions of the state. A number of curious visitors were seen gathering in the Arunachal pavilion and displays of handicrafts and tourist guide maps were much appreciated. Their questions revolved around the best time to visit the state and the different types of tourisms that the state offers like ethnic, adventure, nature and religious tourisms.
Arunachal Tourism team led by Adong Moyong, Resident Tourism Officer answered all queries and provided information to the prospective tourists. The event served in creating the much needed awareness about the great potential of Arunachal as a tourism destination.
Minister of Tourism, Nakap Nalo said that it is the aim of Arunachal Tourism to promote sustainable tourism so that the local communities also share the fruits of development while preserving their environment and culture.
