YINGKIONG, Feb 26: Arunachal Rising Campaign-2020 was held here at the multipurpose Community Hall on February 25 last amid a huge gathering of HoDs, business communities, SHGs, NGOs, public leaders, teachers, students and common people.
Attending the programme as Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Taper Pada highlighted the importance of Arunachal Rising Campaign and appealed all to do away with prevailing social evils and extend support for overall progress of Upper Siang district.
CO-Cum i/c DIPRO & Organizing Secretary Philip Jerang informed the aims and objectives of the campaign and briefed about its activities such as “No to Drugs”, “Hi to Communal Harmony”, “Hi to Women Empowerment”, awareness campaigns on various government flagship programmes etc. at Yingkiong.
In the beauty pageant contest, Geyem Jijong of Gette village was crowned Miss Arunachal Rising Campaign-2020 and Geyin Miyu from Yingkiong and Omem Apang from Karko village were adjudged the first and second runners up respectively. DIPRO
