BOMDILA, Jun 11: Arunachal reported 6 fresh covid-19 cases on Thursday taking the overall figure to 63. Three cases have been reported in West Kameng, two cases in Changlang and one case from Longding.
Three Army personnel tested positive for Covid-19 under Singchung sub-division in West Kameng district. An Army Doctor and two soldiers are among the infected.
Circle officer cum Nodal officer Covid-19, Kesang Wangda, has issued an urgent advisory to civilians living in and around Army Cantonment areas of Tenga, Dahung and Chindit Top and prohibited unnecessary venturing out of civilians in nearby areas.
The army doctor has come from a ‘Red Zone’ area and was in home quarantine. Health condition is normal and all are asymptomatic, informed official sources.
Further, Nodal officer has directed the contact tracing team of Sinchung administration to liaison with the Army authority of Military Hospital, Dahung to ascertain if any civilian came in contact with the positive cases.
Given this development, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Thirizino also issued an advisory prohibiting people not to visit Tenga. ADC also directed the shopkeepers not to bring any commodities from Tenga and Rupa till further order.
Meanwhile, a positive case has been reported from Longding district where a Gujarat returnee has tested positive this evening. The person was in a quarantine facility center and will be shifted to the COVID care center.
Two more cases were reported from Changlang.
