ITANAGAR, Dec 15: Pursuing the theme ‘Protect, preserve and promote the vanishing folk cultures of Arunachal’, the Ejing Dudak Musical Band will be organizing its second edition of Arunachal Music Festival here at state capital from January 29 to February 2 next.
Addressing a press conference today at the Press Club, Chairperson Toko Yalam informed that the sole motive of the festival is to encourage the local artistes with the larger goal of preserving the age-old folklores of Arunachal. She further added that this year’s committee is also inviting various folk artists from all the Northeastern states to perform in the festival. “We appeal to the people of Arunachal to come and visit the festival to encourage the folk artists and preserve our timeless traditions,” Yalam added.
Event Director- AMF, Tai Togung informed that besides performances of various folk artists, inter-college folk song competition will be held and traditional sports like a bull-ride, archery and cock-fight are also in the list. Moreover, we are also organizing a panel discussion on protection and preservation of folklores, Togung added.
Among others, Marketing Head-AMF Takam Anju and Cultural Incharge Yami Lazi also spoke at the press meet.
