ITANAGAR, Dec 6: Three artisans from Arunachal Pradesh will be showcasing a live demonstration of the unique traditional crafts in the Annual India- Japan Summit which will be held in Guwahati on December 16 where the Prime Ministers of India and Japan are expected to attend.
From Arunachal Pradesh two headgears from Nyishi and Adi tribes have been selected for Live Demonstration of work in progress of the craft/trade in the working stations. This was informed by the NEC Shillong over a Video Conference today with the Chief Secretary, Naresh Kumar. It was also informed that the finest headgear from Arunachal Pradesh stall will be presented by the craftsmen to both Prime Ministers.
Terming the occasion as a great opportunity to showcase the unique and beautiful traditional craft of Arunachal Pradesh in an international platform, the Chief Secretary has suggested the Industry Secretary NT Glow to further incorporate the display of other headgears of different tribes as the background of the stall.
He also suggested that the artisans should be dressed in their traditional attires. PRO to CS
