NAHARLAGUN, May 13:Arunachal Football Academy (AFA) was born here on Friday at the initiative of  Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) to tap the vast hidden talents of this hilly state.

APFA media adviser Pradeep Kumar  lauded the move, particularly of secretary Ajay Kipa in setting up of the non-residential academy to function from Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. National Institute of Sports qualified Tarh Juna, Kipa Bharat and Rocky Ramching are the coaches who have already begun coaching a good number of palyers.

Any interested boys and girls under-12 and under-14 categories could face trial for their inherent talents to be honed up under professional guidance to win laurels, Kipa said .

Setting up of such an institution was a long felt need to groom the visible talents for which the AFA would go for talent hunt at grassroots levels all over the state to tap those gifted with genuine aptitude for the game, Kipa said.

Arunachalees have proved their soccer talent globally.  APFA trained Techi Amin is the youngest  among them besides  Indrajit Namchoom Gumpe Rime.
