ITANAGAR, Jul 10:Arunachal Pradesh finds itself in the bottom of the list on ‘ease of doing business’, the list which was declared today by the Union Government. Giving company to Arunachal Pradesh in the bottom are Manipur, Sikkim, Lakshadweep and Meghalaya.
Andhra Pradesh is the highest-ranking on the list of states and Union Territories surveyed for the ease of doing business. Telangana and Haryana secured the second and third positions on the annual ranking list by the World Bank and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
Other states that made it to the top 10 were Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Rajasthan.
In 2017, Andhra Pradesh shared the top spot with Telangana on the list.
The index aims at creating a competitive environment for states to attract investments and improve their business climate, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion said. The parameters for the list include construction permit, labour regulation, environmental registration, access to information, land availability, and single window system.
