ITANAGAR, Oct 25: Commemorating the 150 birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a three day workshop on painting is being held at Siddhartha hall, Itanagar. The workshop which began today is being organised by the North East Zone Cultural Center, Dimapur in collaboration with Department of Art & Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Various artists from the capital complex along with students from the Department of Fine Arts, Rajiv Gandhi University are participating in the workshop. 

The workshop is basically to disseminate the ideas and philosophy of Gandhiji to the public in the form of creative arts. 

Speaking to this reporter, an Art student from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwa Vidyalaya, Chhattisgarh, Jackie Bodo lauded the initiative of the Department of Art and Culture to bring to the fore creativity of budding artists. 

“As the workshop commemorates the birth anniversary of Gandhiji, all the artists present are working on putting the ideas of Gandhiji in the form of art on the canvas,” he added.
