AALO, Sep 12: In a bizarre incident, the third of its kind since November last year, the West Siang District Court Building was set ablaze by miscreants at around 3 am on Wednesday night.
After sprinkling petrol around the court building and setting fire its outer surface, miscreants also burnt a two wheeler of one of the security personnel kept at the premises. Security personnel on duty informed police and fire brigade only after the court building caught fire which was however eventually doused.
It can be recalled that the CJM Court earlier came under fire attacks on November 20, 2018 and May 6 this year. West Siang Bar Association, condemning the incident has demanded immediate suspension of the IRBN personnel deployed in CJM Cum Civil Judge (Sr. Div.) Court for their failure and negligence to apprehend the miscreant(s) and safeguard the court premises, which is supposed to be a safe and secured place. The members have further demanded deployment of security personnel on roster system at CJM court, immediate installation of high resolution night vision camera and high mast tower at the court premises. They also urged the District Administration to hand over all the pending registered cases against miscreants involved in these fire attacks to SIT for further investigation by officers not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, failing which they will go on protest by refusing all government cases (Civil & Criminal).
Conveying their strong resentment, Bar members submitted their grievances in a meeting held with the District Administration under Chairmanship of West Siang ADC C. Chukhu who assured to take up the issue with DC and SP for immediate action. DIPRO
