ITANAGAR, Apr 16:Indian Army (Garhwal Rifles of Siang Brigade) stationed at Upper Siang recently distributed free books and stationeries to the students including school staffers of Yingkiong and Ramsing area in a programme organized at Govt. Middle School , Daggong, Yingkiong.
Almost 400 students of 10 government schools under the district benefited. The distribution is an initiative of the Army to assist the teachers and students to improve quality education in remote areas that are devoid of basic amenities and infrastructure.
During the programme, army officers also interacted with the students and teachers and assured all possible support and cooperation from the army.
