CHONGKHAM, Jun 17: In a noble gesture, the Chowkham Battalion of Indian Army under the aegis of Lohit Brigade,Dao Division of Spear Corps constructed Community Hall with full facilities of toilet blocks, water supply and electricity for the local villagers of Chongkham under its Operation Sadbhavana.
The asset was handed over to the local people in presence of senior army officers and Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Chowkham today.
This goodwill project is an endeavour to provide basic amenities and infrastructure to the local people of remote and inaccessible areas of Arunachal Pradesh. The project will go a long way of enhancing the goodwill of Army among the local population, informed the Army in its press statement.
The project was undertaken based on the inescapable requirement and requests of local people to provide them with a space to conduct public meetings, social events and get together to ensure integrity and harmony of the Community added the release. ES Newsdesk
