PASIGHAT, Feb 21: On the occasion of Statehood Day, the Indian Army’s Spear Head Division conducted a free medical camp at Stadium/general ground in Tuting, Upper Siang District on Tuesday for the local populace and nearby villages.

A well qualified and experienced team of doctors from Indian Army as well as District Health Authority of Upper Siang District actively participated and provided their services. As the villages are fairly away from District Headquarters in remote border areas where no medical infrastructure exists and medical facilities are scarce, thereby accruing necessary benefits to locals to a large extent.

The response of the people from Tuting and nearby villages was warm and welcoming and they turned up in large numbers to avail the facilities thereby utilizing the benefits to the maximum. Free medicines were also distributed to them during the camp.The aim of the medical camp was successfully achieved by provision of free medicines for the local population of Tuting and nearby villages and to help weaker section of society economically, informed Education officer of Sigar Military station here in a press statement.
