LONGDING, Dec 8: A security personnel was martyred and four others injured in an ambush in Longsom village in Longding district today.
As per official report, a group of militants suspected to be from NSCN-(IM) ambushed an army troop belonging to the 19 Sikh Regiment in Longsome village. One army jawan was reportedly martyred and another four injured in the attack.
Longsom village is some 20 kilometres away from the district headquarters Longding.
Recently on December 6 last, a hardcore cadre self style Captain of NSCN (IM) was killed in an encounter with security forces in Longkai village of Longding district.
On November last, three NSCN cadre were killed in Latang Village during an encounter with Assam Rifles  Jawans  at Laptang Village in Khonsa district. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the three slain militants.
