ITANAGAR, Jan 17: The executive members of Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society visited the office of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women here and congratulated the new 5th Commission Body comprising of Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi, Vice Chairperson Heyomai Towsik, Member Hoksum Ori, Member Likha Joya and Member Hunmai who assumed office on 31 December 2018.
The NGO had discussed problems and issues related to women and child with the Commission. They submitted memorandum highlighting issues such as mushrooming of bar-cum-restaurants, issues related to alarming rise of flesh trade in the twin capital, unisex parlours-cum-spas, and ways and means to check and control thereof. They raised concerns regarding the repeated assaults on minors and girl child in schools and other places. They further expressed their concerns on marriage registration Act and discussed about codification of customary law.
The Chairperson APSCW assured to look in to the issues and discuss the matter with the concerned authorities.
