ITANAGAR, Apr 11: The central executive committee of the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) today handed over 300 plus home made masks and monetary assistance to support the 'mask for Arunachal' campaign launched by the State unit of Indian Medical Association.
The masks and amount was handed over to the President IMA, Dr Lobsang Tsetim on Saturday. The APWWS branches across the state are also contributing masks and cash amount to districts administrations.
Some of the branches are also giving essential food items to the migrant workers and others.
Society meanwhile has urged all to follow the government order by staying at home and following social distancing.
“We must remember that the government is taking step to save each one of us so it's our moral responsibility to oblige with the government instruction”, it said. “Our prayers goes out to all the persons involved in fighting Covid- 19” the organisation added.
The chief minister Pema Khandu also took to social media to praise the organisation.
“Difficult situation sometimes bring out the best in people. It is they who give us hope and encourages us to act than complain. My deepest appreciation and thanks to Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS) for facing up to the challenge of COVID19," he said in a post. ES Newsdesk
