JANG, Sep 27: Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women conducted a day-long legal awareness camp-cum-workshop here at the ADC Conference Hall today participated by HoDs, NGOs and general public.
APSWC Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi spoke on various issues relating to women and interacted with the participants answering their queries and issues. ADC Jang Lobsang Wangchu Bapu highlighted the issues related to women that need to be addressed. Techi Hunmai discussed the powers and functions of APSCW and spoke at length regarding various issues relating to women and children. Legal Advisor to APSWC, Karmu Chotten stressed on the need for registration of marriages and elaborated on laws relating to women. SP Tawang SS Kalsi threw light on POCSO Act, need for its proper implementation and spread of its awareness. SDMO CHC Jang Dr. Rinchen Neema spoke on issues relating to breast cancer, menstrual hygiene and cervical cancer. Various topics like Prevention of Women from Domestic Violence Act were also taken up by APSWC member Likha Joya. Its Vice Chairperson H.Tawsik encouraged every women participant to be aware of their rights and actively participate in local government bodies.
APSWC members will also interact with HoDs, NGOs and general public on Saturday at Tawang headquarters. DIPRO
