ITANAGAR, Jun 26: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked an Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS) bus on its way from Itanagar to Shillong at Manshari under Charduar police station in Sonitpur district of Assam.
According to sources, the incident took place somewhere in the highway nearby Manshari area in Assam when few unknown people started pelting stones at the bus causing minor cuts to the driver and causing serious injury to a passenger at around 11 pm.
When contacted, the APST station superintendent, Tuter Dolum informed that the Itanagar-Shillong APST bus was on its way to Shillong when few persons in a Tata mobile van coming from the opposite side stopped their vehicle in front of the bus and started throwing stones. “Despite receiving injuries from broken glass from the front windshield, the driver somehow managed to drive the bus away from the spot. Moreover, a passenger identified as N Dada sitting on the front seat suffered internal injuries below the chest after a stone hit him directly,” Dolum divulged.
He further informed that an FIR could not be lodged as the traumatized passengers requested the driver to take them first to their destination. “A complaint letter will be submitted on Wednesday at the Chardhaur police station,” Dolum said. The miscreants are yet to be traced till filing of this report.
