Governor chairs high-level security review meeting

ITANAGAR, April 03: In a major contribution to the state exchequer in terms of revenue generation, the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service(APSTS) achieved record revenue of Rs 19.43 crore surpassing its own revenue target of Rs 18 crore. This was informed by APSTS General Manager Abu Tayeng here this evening. “Highest ever revenue collection since 1975 by APSTS” informed GM Abu Tayeng. The GM further divulged revenue earned in percentage is 108% against actual revenue received is 103%. Itanagar 109%, Namsai 111%, Roing 147%, Miao 117%, Khonsa 116% , Tezu 130%, Seppa 117% , Bomdila 101% , Tawang 134% and the icing on the cake Yingkiong 209%.
He added that the difference is due to non deposition of postal charges and hire charges by departments like police, district administration during current financial year. Tayeng attributed the introduction of SUMO services and new age ultra buses brought about a sea change in the department. “Innovative ideas like E-ticketing and a NE first mobile app brought national recognition in the form of a "public transport excellence award". He also said that decentralization of procurement at the District level meant quick solutions and better service.
The GM credited the success of department in revenue generation to the untiring effort of the field officers and teamwork. “ Detractors and complaints will be there but results speak for itself” .He also thanked the Chief Minister who also heads the dept and Parliamentary Secretary Likha Saaya for their unstinted support and trust in him. The APSTS has seen phenomenal rise in revenue collection in the last 5 years.
