Naharlagun, Jul 21: Awareness cum Training Programme on Cyber Security, Cyber Crimes & Electronic Evidence marked the second day of the ‘Two days Orientation Programme for Legal Aid Counsels/Retainer Lawyers under (A2J & JK) Project Initiative’ organised by the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Ministry  of Law & Justice, GoI which concluded today.
It was meant for the Judicial Officers, Advocates, Police Officers and staff of Women Helpline & One Stop Center attended by nearly 65 participants. The resource persons included Member Secretary, APSLSA Budi Habung, Advocate & Mediator, Supreme Court of India Reema Bhandari and Advocate Delhi High Court & IT expert Manish Manocha. The other dignitaries present were District & Sessions Judge, Yupia Jaweplu Chai, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pasighat Mary Kamsi, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Yupia Tenzin Metho etc.
Reema Bhandari gave a brief introduction to the topic of ‘Cyber World: Role of internet  in criminal world and role of social media’ and spoke about structuring and processing of complaints and creating investigation roadmap in the light of the Information Technology Act and the available remedies in civil and criminal matters, etc. She also spoke on the topics such as admissibility and types of electronic evidences and their mandatory authentication. Advocate & IT expert Manish Manocha presented an overview of ‘Cyber Crime: Crime through emails, mobiles phones & crimes through social media, etc’ and threw light on cyber forensics, classification, standard operating procedure & challenges and details of electronic evidences.
There was also a brief interactive session where clarifications sought by participants were given by the resource persons. APSLSA PR
