Book on Traditional Festivals of Arunachal Pradesh released
ITANAGAR, Dec 3: As part of the universal celebration of the Rights of the Disabilities, the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authorities (APSLSA) in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Paralympics Association (APPA) celebrated the day with a daylong awareness programme today. It was attended among others by Budi Habung, Member Secretary, APSLSA, Dani Belo, Deputy Secretary, Law cum OSD APSLSA, Ligo Taju, Jumgam Jini, Nani Modi, Legal Aid Counsels of the Authority and other Executive Members of the Disabled Association.
The Member Secretary highlighted activities and the role played by the legal services authorities in facilitating access to justice to the large section of society as vested upon by the law of the land. He called upon the disabled persons to approach the authority at any time for enforcement of their rights. Jumgam Jini, Legal aid counsel, in his presentation spoke vividly on Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016-issues & challenges of implementation thereof, while Nani Modi spoke on Right to Education Act, 2009 with special emphasis on disabled children. During the programme, short documentaries of NALSA were screened for the participants.
