Itanagar, Sep 9: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), Itanagar vehemently condemned the recent viral video depicting the molestation and abuse of a child. Such heinous acts are deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable, it said.
The Commission appreciated the prompt action taken by the police and has urged the concerned authorities to take immediate and stern action against the perpetrator(s) and book him/them under the strictest applicable provisions of law. The Commission further called upon the authorities to thoroughly investigate all aspects of the matter and register the pertaining case under relevant provisions pertaining to child trafficking and child labour, in addition to the applicable laws relating to child sexual abuse and exploitation.
The APSCW also urged the concerned authorities for swift investigation and strict legal action to ensure that justice is delivered and further requested to provide all necessary support, care and assistance to the victim and their family.
Further, the APSCW requested citizens not to circulate the video of the victim to safeguard her identity and dignity.
