Itanagar, Nov 6: Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology (APSCS&T) has participated in the ongoing 5th India International Science Festival (IISF) being held at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre & Science City, Kolkata from November 5-8.
APSCS&T, as a part of the participation is demonstrating its various activities which includes work of DBT-APSCS&T CoE of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Kimin, Science Centre and Patent Information Centre. The Team Arunachal was represented by Bamang Apo, Scientist-D, Tenzin Sherap, Scientist-B, Terpo Ronya, Scientist-B, Dr Pankaj Bhairali, Scientist-B, Dunyak Ado, Scientist-B and Curator, Science Centre Dr Vivek Kumar. The four-day programme includes various activities like exhibition stalls, conclaves, oral & poster presentation and screening of science movies.
The festival was inaugurated by Minister of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare Dr Harshavardhan. IISF was launched in 2015 with the objective of celebrating science and technology and demonstrating how science could lead India towards a developed nation. IISF 2019 is being jointly organized by the above ministries in association with Vijnana Bharti (VIBHA). Leading institutes and organizations of the country like DRDO, CSIR and DST are participating in the festival.
