NAHARLAGUN, Mar 10:
The four-day training for Master Trainers of National Nutrition Mission was conducted from March 6-9 at Directorate of Women and Child Development, Naharlagun. From the state two ICDS projects namely Seppa and Pakke Kessang have been identified for the first phase roll out. The training mainly focused on using ICDS-CAS application software which Anganwadi Worker will use it for Real Time Monitoring. Under this mission Anganwadi Worker and Supervisors will be provided Smart Phones to record daily activity and nutritional status of every child. The training was conducted by Jaimon Thomas, Program Manager Care India. Patna based Care India Organisation is facilitator for Arunachal Pradesh.
The National Nutrition Mission was launched by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on March 8 from Jhunjhunu ,Rajasthan. Arunachal Pradesh also participated in the launch through web link. The launch was live streamed, which was also watched by field functionaries of ICDS.
National Nutrition Mission (NNM) would benefit more than 10 Crore people across India. All the States and districts will be covered in a phased manner i.e. 315 districts in 2017-18, 235 districts in 2018-19 and remaining districts in 2019-20. Mission would strive to achieve reduction in Stunting from 38.4% (NFHS-4) to 25% by 2022.
In the closing ceremony Director (WCD), TP Loyi expressed hope that NNM and Real Time Monitoring will help in reducing stunting amongst children. She requested the Master Trainers from the district to work hard for the success of the mission.
