Itanagar, Mar 19: Giving another boost to the Drama Culture in the state, a ten days realistic acting workshop successfully concluded in Pastoral Centre Arunalay, Hilltop Itanagar on Monday. 
The workshop was organised by ‘Roots’, a cultural organisation in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) from March 9 to 18. The workshop was facilitated by renowned theatre personality and actor Pabitra Rabha from Tangla, Assam, who is also the founding member of Dapon: The Mirror, a theatre group along with Sonam Stobqais from Ladakh and Niranjan Nath from Assam, the Two Alumni From National School of Drama (NSD). More than 12 selected aspirants participated in the workshop from various parts of the state including former Deputy Commissioner of Itanagar Capital Region Talo Potom. Few theatre activists of the state also helped the trainers during the workshop.
In a concluding ceremony on Monday APLS President Y D Thongchi distributed certificates to the participants. Speaking about the new trend in theatre in the state under the leadership of NSD Assistant Profession and NSD alumni Riken Ngomle, Thongchi said that Arunachal Pradesh youths are very talented and quick learners and have every potential to make a successful entry in the entertainment industry in coming days. He stressed that opportunities will come sooner or later for the actors but our boys and girls must get themselves ready to grab such opportunities. 
APLS General Secretary Mukul Pathak also present in the valedictory programme urged the budding actors to try a hand in script writing and activities related to acting and drama. President of ‘Roots’, Riken Ngomle congratulated the participants for successfully completing the workshop. Ngomle also announced that he is working on a street play to be performed in Itanagar very soon based on a burning social issue of the state with the participants of the workshop. He also assured the participants of the opportunity to be part of an upcoming short film he is making. Trainers of the workshop Pabitra Rabha and Sonam Stobqais also spoke on the occasion.
