PASIGHAT, May 14: Apex Professional University (APU), one of the first private universities in Arunachal Pradesh observed its sixth foundation day today at the university campus here in a simple yet glittering function organised by the students and faculties.
Based at Gumin Nagar Pasighat in East Siang district, Apex Professional University was established in 2013 after the state government made a remarkable change in its education policy by allowing private universities to start functioning in the state.APU today offers various courses under four departments like School of Law & Juridical Sciences, School of Education & Social Sciences, School of Health & Allied Sciences and Institute of Research & Innovation.
“The university has a total of 283 enrolled students and 47 teaching, non-teaching faculties and staff who are working hard to give a parallel and high quality education to the students of this border state at par with the best universities of the country,” said Acharya Dhanwant Singh in his message.
Many students have expressed their gratitude to the university for offering courses like integrated B.A. L.L.B, Bachelor of Law (LLB), Master of Law (LLM) and other courses at their doorsteps. “If these courses were not offered by APU here in state, we would have been required to go outside the state to obtain the same degrees by incurring huge financial costs which is not possible for poor students like us,” said Lungkang Ering, one of the law students and convener of APU Students Council.
