ITANAGAR, Aug 20: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) along with its front wing celebrated the 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi here today.
APCC President and former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki along with other Congress leaders paid tribute to the former Prime Minister.
To commemorate the day, APCC organized a tree plantation at Rajiv Bhawan and Blood donation camp at RKM Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Tuki recalled the contribution of Rajiv Gandhi towards the development of Arunachal Pradesh and the country as a whole. "Amongst his contribution is establishment of University in Arunachal, development of hydropower, security as well as in other infrastructure development. Besides the development of Science and Technology in the country he initiated and strengthened grassroots democracy by bringing 73rd and 74th Amendment for local self government," he said.
