ITANAGAR, Apr 30:A day after the State Election Commission cancelled the Municipality Election in view of the approaching monsoon season, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today criticized the decision and termed the reason for postponement as irrational and fabricated step by the BJP led government.

Stating that despite downpour the last Municipality and Panchayat elections were conducted simultaneously and peacefully, the APCC questioned why the BJP government is unwilling to conduct the same this year on time.

Alleging that everything is stage-managed by the BJP to buy extra time, the APCC strongly condemned the BJP for resorting to shameful tactics and its inability to conduct local body elections saying that they should not break traditions.

The APCC also accused the BJP for making mockery of the Constitution, it said that the party will not stay silent while Constitution of the country is being played by the state government for its vested interest. It further cautioned of launching a state-wide protest.
