ITANAGAR, Apr 3:The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has criticized BJP of sabotaging and diluting the long cherished SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and accused the central government of not effectively arguing against the Supreme Court’s order passed March 20, 2018.
 
In a release, APCC, President, Takam Sanjoy has accused that the BJP govt. at the centre is not concerned about welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and opined if they had presented the case seriously at court then decision might be different today.
 
 “Their silence during the hearing has exposed BJP Govt’s witch hunting on SCs and STs which is their ideological approach”, Sanjoy Condemned.
 
“The ST population of Arunachal Pradesh strongly Condemned PM Modi and his govt. for failing to secure the rights of SCs and STs and for large-scale violence in different parts of the country which has claimed 10 innocent lives so far, ” the APCC chief added.
 
Later Sanjoy strongly urged the govt. of India to file a curative petition against the Supreme Court ruling, or bring an amendment to undo the top court’s ruling.
