ITANAGAR, Dec 15: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today slammed Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju for continuously lying during the inauguration of newly created Pakke-Kessang district on December 14.
It accused Rijiju for taking credit for developments brought by Congress in the state. Frontier Highway and industrial corridor projects were actually planned by Congress which Kiren Rijiju hijacked and shamelessly included in his election agenda of 2014 and made random announcements of the same to the public to get votes. APCC questioned why his promises of frontier highway and industrial corridor have vanished in thin air.
It was also disappointing to hear Khandu disseminating wrong information on CM Arogya Arunachal Yojna (CMAAY) it said and added the Pema Khandu-led BJP government does not have the patent on the health insurance scheme. It said that the Chief Minister’s Universal Health Insurance Scheme (CMUHIS) conceived by former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki was replaced by CMAAY. Pema Khandu must deliver correct information that CMUHIS had covered more than 3 lakh population which benefitted thousands with cashless treatment of diseases of all category in a short span of time.
CMAAY has empanelled very few hospitals which are unfamiliar to the population whereas CMUHIS empanelled more than 25 hospitals popularly known to the population and highly equipped with modern technology, the APCC said.
“The speech delivered by Pema Khandu was full of white lies. He claimed union ministers visited only 50 times in past 24 years without any development activities and approximately 130 times in his four and half years of reign in the state. The public of Arunachal Pradesh haven't witnessed ministers visiting from the Centre to Arunachal 130 times,” it said and demanded that Khandu furnish documents to prove it.
