ITANAGAR, May 22: The 30th Board meeting of Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) was held at Civil Secretariat, Itanagar under the Chairmanship of Minister Agriculture, Horticulture, etc Tage Taki. 
The meeting kicked off with briefing and action taken report of 29th Board meeting held last, by Okit Palling, CEO APAMB. All the members of the board discussed and approved a few activities to be taken up in near future.
Strengthening of APMC checkgates and kiosk at twelve prominent entry points in the state. These infrastructures are to be manned by the officials of Agriculture, A.H &Veterinary, Fisheries and Horticulture departments. The proposed APMC Kiosk shall function as a Phytosanitary centre for all agriculture & horticulture seeds & planting materials. Animal Quarantine & Certification Services will also be part of the Kisok. 
Minister Taki  also stressed upon the functioning of Marketing Board, Director of Agri Marketing and APMCs. It was decided that as per new AP-APALM Act 2017, the Board will function independently in the area of postharvest management of all agriculture & allied produces. Director of Agri. Marketing will have to largely carry out regulatory functions, while the APAMB will be mandated with developmental responsibilities under the Act. 
The Board also reviewed functioning of all the APMCs across the State and discussed on modalities for improving generation. 
Minister reiterated that the role of Agriculture Marketing Board in doubling the farmers income in the state. He also suggested the Marketing board to take up aggressive approach for procurement, sale and marketing of the Agri-Horti produce of the state.
