Sagalee, Jun 10: Anti-Malaria month was observed at Sagalee block by the team of State Vector Borne Diseases Control Society, DHS Naharlagun in collaboration with District Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme. The team visited CHC Sagalee, Sub Center Balapu, Gai, Nyimte and PHC Leporiang.
Creating awareness on Anti-Malaria activities Dr K. T.Mullung, SPO (NVBDCP) cum State Nodal Officer(Malaria), spoke about the national framework for Malaria elimination and its strategies to achieve Govt of India target to eliminate malaria by year 2030.
Further, Dr. Mullung urged all to take proper note of the IECs being done at village level by ASHAs and at various facilities by health workers, starting from State to district to blocks to village levels.
He sought the co-operations from every corner, during the surveillance activities and source reductions by health workers with the advent of monsoon when there is maximum possibility of water stagnations everywhere besides maintaining proper hygiene and social distancing in view of covid-19 pandemic.
