Siang, Feb 2: An anti-drugs awareness campaign- cum- EVM/VVPAT awareness programme was conducted on Feb 1 at Riew village, Siang District organised by Mirmir Bills, a Pasighat based NGO working for social causes in partnership with district administration, Siang.
Acting as resource person for the day, General Secretary, WASE (Women Against Social Evils), a women led social organization actively working towards eradication of social evils, Joya Tasung Moyong spoke about the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and urged everyone to unitedly fight against the menace of drug abuse and other social evils.
A detailed PPT presentation was given by resource person, Deputy Director Health Services and spokesperson WASE Dr. Runi Tasung Bhattacharya, on the ill effects of drugs, alcohol, tobacco etc. EAC (Election) Kamin Darang also spoke on the occasion.
Ethical voting pledge was administered and hands-on demonstration of EVM/VVPAT machines was given to all participants. 
The programme which witnessed active participation from village authorities, public leaders,  women groups, HGBs/GBs and general public benefitted more than 100 people.DIPRO
