GUWAHATI, Nov 3: World record holder mountaineer and Himalayan lover, Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa has been honoured with ‘Eastern Himalayan Global Environmental Ambassador’ instituted by Balipara Foundation.
The award was conferred by Dr. K.K. Sarma a world-renowned wildlife researcher and veterinarian in the presence of over 1000 delegates from 13 countries around the world including USA, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, China etc on Friday evening.
The 6th edition of Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum and the award function was beamed live by Jio Digital with over 220 million viewership worldwide. Jamsenpa during her brief acceptance speech said that in order to cope up with the prevailing deteriorating environment and economic conditions, we need to conserve nature and do more plantation to preserve the ecology and improve economy of the region. “I’m honoured and at the same time it’s a responsibility for me to spread the word for conservation. I congratulate the Balipara Foundation for playing a significant role towards the conservation of the eco-system,” said Anshu.  

She also wished Ranjit Barthakur, Founder Trustee Balipara Foundation and his team all the best in their nature conservation effort by planting seven million trees in the border landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, Bhutan and Assam.
