ITANAGAR, Mar 24: The Congress in the state has lost another one of its female leaders with Toko Yaram resigning on Sunday evening owing to denial of party ticket to the Yachuli assembly constituency.
Yaram, who was the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary, said she was leaving the party because of the denial of party ticket.
An active member of the Congress for nearly two decades, Yaram said she had applied for the party ticket twice before and was denied the tickets then as well.
She informed that she had spoken with the APCC chief, but was not given a specific answer on the reasons for denying her of the party ticket.
“I have sacrificed a lot for the party but my efforts were not valued,” she said and informed that she would contest the election with or without the Congress ticket.
