ITANAGAR, Oct 24: Continuing its endeavour to curb drug menace in the twin capitals, Capital Police today arrested one drug peddler from Banderdewa.
Acting on a tip-off that a drug peddler is carrying narcotics in a motor cycle for supplying at Naharlagun area, a team of police led by SI RK Jha, OC Police Station Banderdewa were alerted under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Capital Tumme Amo and SDPO Naharlagun R. Kamsi. The team intercepted the drug peddler at Banderdewa gate who was identified as M Bagra, a native of Aalo, West Siang district. He has been detained along with the motor cycle, 40 vials ( 52.25) grams of suspected heroin, 2 insulin syringes and one mobile handset, informed SP Tumme Amo.
A case numbering 025/2019 U/S-21(b)/27 under NDPS Act has been registered at Banderdewa PS against the accused and investigation is on to trace the source of drugs. This is the sixth successful catch in Banderdewa during 2019, SP added.
