ITANAGAR, Jun 17: The Combined Annual Training Camp conducted by NCC 1 Arunachal Pradesh Bn commenced today here at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic with participation of 500 boy & girl cadets from various schools & colleges of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
The chief objective of the camp is to introduce the cadets to a disciplined military life and help them inculcate the basic qualities of leadership, camaraderie and national integration so as to make them responsible citizens of the country. During this 10-day camp which will continue till June 26, cadets will follow a strict routine including various physical exercises like PT, Drill, Yoga, Aerobics & Zumba. They will also be imparted training on weapon handling, firing, map reading, field & battle crafts, leadership, social awareness, social service, community development and personality development besides participation in various sports and cultural competitions. Five teachers from schools/colleges will play the roles of ANO/CTOs (Associate NCC Officer/ Care Taker Officer) along with twenty army personnel under supervision of CO 1 Arunachal Pradesh BN NCC, Col RK Sharma.
Various community development activities like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, blood donation camp, etc along with lectures and demonstrations on First Aid in case of emergencies by state Health Department, fire fighting demo by Fire Fighting Service, Itanagar, weapon display by 31 ITBP, road safety & traffic rules by Capital Traffic Police, self-defense training by APP and NDRF demo by 12th BN NDRF, Doimukh will be the major highlights of the camp.
