ITANAGAR, Jan 18: The annual governing body meeting of State Council of Science & Technology was held here at the conference hall of Science Centre, IG park today.
The meeting was chaired by its chairman, Bamang Mangha wherein members discussed a wide range of issues confronting various developmental works.
In his address, Mangha urged the participating officials to devote their energy and knowledge for promotion of science & technology in the state.
He also asked the governing body members for further expansion of the activities and schemes of the council by disseminating information about its importance to grassroots level.
Secretary S&T expressed the need to establish a new division to accommodate the affairs of Earth Science and called for further expansion of the activities such as Remote Sensing, DBT etc.
Technical Advisor to CM, KC Dhimole suggested for initiating a measure for the creation of the new division of renewable energy under the S&T Council. 
He also suggested for submitting a presentation on the activities of the council before the Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog for further support. 
Earlier Director cum Member Secretary CD Mungyak in detail highlighted activities of the council carried out during the year 2017-18 through power point presentation.
