BOMDILA, Nov 24: The 13th Annual Drub-Chod-Chen-Mo Cum Bomdila Torgya -2019 celebration kicked off today here at Gonste Gaden Rabgye Ling Monastery.
The celebration was started from November 19 last but the formal rituals started today and the festival will end on November 27 next, informed Chant Master GRL Monastery, Bomdila Jambay Dhindum. He also briefed that the objective of the festival is to organize prayers and chant hymns to eradicate evil spirits and usher in all-round prosperity and happiness.
Attending the festival, MLA-Kalaktang, Dorjee Wangdi Kharma informed that Torgya festival is an occasion where people from all sections gather and seek blessings and pray for the well-being of families and villages. He urged people to join the festival and hear the teachings from spiritual leaders in the Gompa.
Besides spiritual events, an exhibition on local handicrafts and traditional cultural events are also being organized in the week-long festival.
