ITANAGAR, Nov 11: Amidst heightened security, Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission conducted the APPSCCE (Mains) at both its centers -- at the Commission's campus and King Cup Public school today. However, several aspirants were still on the road and gheraoed the Commission’s exam center staging protest.
Despite the ongoing protest, at least 471 aspirants out of 856 took the examination in the morning session and 463 sat for the exam in the afternoon session at the APPSC campus. Whereas 176 aspirants out of 463 attended the examination at King cup school exam center, informed an official.
When contacted, Secretary APPSC, Taru Talo said ‘We cannot cancel and re-conduct the ongoing examination. It will continue. When asked about the Court hearing on November 14 next, the Secretary added 'We are following the court’s judgment, however it is the court’s prerogative what judgment would be given on the 14th but till then we will continue our examination as per the November 9th order.'
Earlier, hundreds of aspirants protested outside the Commission office demanding postponement of ongoing examination. Agitators also demanded intervention of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
One of the aspirants informed that they have already submitted memorandums to the Governor and Chief Minister registering their protest and seeking their intervention in the ongoing APPSC fiasco.
