In a joint press conference held today, Alternative Learning System (ALS) and Helping Hand NGO’s has announced the launching of Engineer and Medical preparation courses at Ziro and here at Itanagar and a new IIT JEE/NEET scholarship scheme amounting to rupees 50 lakh launched for students.
Addressing reporters, ALS national sales head, Prateek Bhattacharya asserted that coaching is being started in association with AVANTI, a leading group of experts on Engineer and Medical coaching, supported by Helping Hand in Itanagar and Ziro.
"ALS is very determined to produce one IAS officer annually and 10 IIT students from the state in next session 2020,” Bhattacharya added.
Addressing the media persons, IPS Robin Hibu informed that the move was an effort on part of Helping Hand NGO to expand the education to remote areas as a part of its social responsibility scheme.
He also informed that they are going to introduce smart classes with infrastructure and state of art equipment to help students to learn in a better way than regular classes.
"Many NRIs have also shown interest in contributing to NE education sector and they are ready to assist us in redefining the education scenario in our state," he added.
He also informed about a scholarship scheme initiated by them under which one male and female will be sponsored by respective MLAs with an amount of Rs. 4.4 lakhs for coaching.
