ITANAGAR, Mar 6: A State Level Standing Committee meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Satya Gopal was convened at the Civil Secretariat today to discuss the District Rural Road Plan (DRRP) upon which Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-II (PMGSY-II) will be based on.
The selection of Roads under the DRRP will constitute the basis for all planning exercises of the PMGSY-II.
Considering the significance of the DRRP, the Chief Secretary suggested that the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Departments should be included during the whole process of the DRRP finalisation in the district level. The final vetting should come from the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the districts, he said, only then it can be brought for further approval.
After detailed deliberation it was decided that the Road Plans should come through proper channel from the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the District after proper vetting following proper guidelines.
Stressing on a balanced development of all the 60 constituencies of the State, the CS asked the Rural Works Department to include road plans of all the constituencies in the DRRP, and further said that while preparing the operation manual for DRRP we will have to keep in mind that we cannot leave any village behind to provide road connectivity.
Commissioner PWD, Secretary RWD, Secretary Finance, Secretary RD, Chief Engineer RWD-WZ, Commandant 756 BRTF and all concerned were present in the meeting. Nodal Officer N.L.Kamin briefed the house on the DRRP in a power point presentation. CS Office
