ITANAAGR, Feb 14:The Mishing community residing in state today celebrated their festival ‘Ali-A :’Ye Ligang’ with great enthusiasm, traditional fervour and pomp and show.

Attending as the chief guest Parliamentary Secretary PWD, UD and ULB, Techi Kaso in his address said that every festival gives us a message to live in unity and maintain communal harmony.

Kaso said that being the local elected representative of the area, he will strive for all round development of the capital city. With regards to rostrum construction, he said that he has given direction to release the balance fund from the department for its early completion which would help in celebration of festival for years together.

Guest of Honour IMC Councillor Yumlam Minu compared Arunachal to a Mini India where people from all tribes, community and religion live and celebrate their rituals and festivals without fear. She urged the migrant community to shoulder the responsibility for development of the area and the state.

Capital Complex Ali-A:ye Liganag festival celebration committee President BC Doley, General Secretary Debojit Pegu also addressed the gathering.

Mishing Socio Cultural Society and IGP (HQ) Nobin Payeng, BJP Mahila Morcha General Secretary Techi Mamta, social workers Techi Voy among others were present on the occasion.

Cultural extravaganza marked the daylong celebration with a huge presence of the people of Mishing community and local people of the area.
