Itanagar, Mar 7: Akashvani Itanagar today observed International Women’s day, a day in advance, and a sensitization programme on women rights and privileges at its office premises in Itanagar. Komna Moidam, member of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) attended the programme was the chief guest and Advocate Nani Modi, Chairperson sexual harassment at work place committee, Papum Pare District was the resource person.
Resource person Advocate Nani Modi sensitized the participants on various legal aspects and rights for women. She said that in order to empower women sensitizing men is one of the most important aspects along with educating women about their rights.
Komna Moidam also encouraged the women participants to know their rights and privileges.
Earlier, R Karmakar, Head of Office (I/c), Akashvani Itanagar, welcomed the guests and participants and spoke on the importance of the occasion.
Head of Programme of the station, Bengia Gooma, Programme Executive Telian Tangjang, Regional News Unit Head of Akashvani and DDK Itanagar Rakesh Doley, all the RJs and announcers and other staff of the office participated in the daylong programme.
As a part of the programme, all the women participants were also felicitated on the occasion.
