ITANAGAR, Nov 5:  With no response as of now from the concerned authority despite six days of dharna and a rally, the 183 compassionate candidates have extended their protest for seven more days here at the Tennis Court.
Speaking to media, compassionate candidates stated that despite their dharna which continued for last six days, the lackadaisical attitude on the part of the authority has compelled them to extend their democratic movement for seven more days. “Department should at least clarify on which ground 183 candidates out of 508 were left out and what is the selection procedure. These candidates are waiting for the last many years but have been ignored,” lamented the candidates.
Meanwhile, DIGP (HQ) Kime Kaming informed media that no candidates were rejected but due to limited vacancies 183 were left and if necessary, the department will provide the reason for being left-out in written form. “We have already extended the date of medical test for the selected 325 compassionate candidates up to November first week after the left-out candidates resorted to protested in October last,” DIGP(HQ) added.  He also disclosed that more 27 vacancies have come up after the selection of 325 compassionate candidates and an additional 26 vacancies were proposed to be filled up against 5% of 1000 regular posts which were announced by the cabinet in June 2019.
As soon as we receive the government’s order to fill up the posts, my office will immediately work on that, asserted the DIGP(HQ).
